Forensic Engineering is one of the engineering specialties offered by John P. Stopen Engineering, LLP. Our engineers have conducted numerous condition surveys and analyses of distress and failure conditions in building structures and foundations.
Forensic procedures include instrument (non-invasive) and invasive (destructive) tests for evaluation of existing conditions to locate damage, identify materials and construction assemblies, and ascertain nature and degree of failure. Testing procedures are specific to materials and assemblies. A combination of structural and geotechnical analytical processes is often required.
