Belleayre Discovery Lodge

JPS, LLP performed Structural and Geotechnical engineering services for the $9M expansion and modernization of the Discovery base Lodge at Belleayre Ski Resort in the Catskill Mountains. The existing building, constructed in three phases in 1960, 1965, and 1980, offered challenging forensic engineering, structural analysis, design, and detailing. A steel and concrete framed addition was constructed to the east. A new roof system consisting of steel girders, exposed glulam beams, and structural insulated panels was installed over a large eastern portion of the main level.
